At the grocery store, I was telling Gideon we have to put our things on the belt so that the lady could check out our groceries so we can pay for them and take them home. We have to pay for things with money so the store lets us take them.

That was when he turned to me and said, “Daddy. Work. Money.”

I assured him that was indeed where our money came from.

It was hilarious.

Oh please. You know I do not approve of nuts in food. It completely ruins everything. You would have to add chocolate or something to make up for using nuts.

I have to admit that I was getting concerned when he kept saying beer a lot, at random times. Then I realized that he was probably saying bear. Of course, what does that say about me when I here beer? Let’s not think too hard about that (and have another beer?). If you do confirm that he is saying bear then he will reward you with the cutest little “grrr”. He even does it in a really low voice.

Ooooh, Aaaah! Pretty. Since I am more of a nerd than a geek* I have no idea what goes in to building your own computer (even though I have read the posts I still have no clue) but it seems impressive. My nerd hat is off to the geeks.

*Nerds and geeks typically dig the same sci-fi-video game- Lord of the Rings-Star Wars-Joss Whedon-type stuff but geeks can build computers, program, and do all the other “building block” things that nerds have no clue how to do. If geeks build it, nerds will use it.

p.s. Dungeons & Dragons Online is not the awesome. Michelle and I tried to play it together because we did that for Guild Wars. She was going to play on my old computer and I was going to play on my new one. It crippled my old computer. And the download manager that it installed on my old computer slowed all other tasks to a crawl. It was ridiculous. The gameplay was no where near worth that. It just wasn’t that fun.

Sorry Sweetheart, I did not mean to say that you are a novice with open source (although given actual source code I don’t know if you would know what to do with it) software. I meant to say two things in one phrase and it came out mangled.

I meant to mention that you would be moving to an all open source computer and that you also don’t have much experience running an open source operating system (Linux, of course).

Ries makes it seem like I have never used Open Source programs. I have used and do use Open Source programs all the time. In fact, I am a huge supporter of the use of them for many things.

However, I have never used an open source operating system and I am excited about going all open source for my software. We are going with the latest version of Ubuntu. Hopefully this weekend. Yay!
